"A mental conflict occurs when beliefs are contradicted by new information. This conflict activates areas of the brain involved in personal identity and emotional response to threats. The brain's alarms go off when a person feels threatened on a deeply personal and emotional level, causing htem to shut down and disregard any rational evidence that contradicts what they previously regarded as "truth".
Sounds like wisdom to me. Mark Twain quotes are always my favorite, and I sure like what that Ram Tzu Liquorman said. That's kinda what I do, with any "outside-the-box" thinkers. They write about the most interesting things, and aren't crazy but get called so. I like to challenge my own as well as others' deeply held beliefs, always. That's how growth occurs! ☮️❤️🐾
Its been quite a journey for me and my husband. We have such different views on a lot of worldly things. We have been together for 30 years and for a long time I agreed with him simply because I didn't really have much interest. But in the last years of the covid battle I really started to push back. He wanted the jab and due to all my research over the years I was dead against it. He was pissed as he wanted to travel. We started to have more and more disagreements with no resolution. It was hard. We both agreed to relationship counselling and the techniques we learned helped a lot. But things got sticky again with the whole Trump thing. I was for him and he against. Now we, mostly, let the other have their opinion and let it go. In the end surprisingly it doesn't really matter. We are both on the spiritual path and we realise that relaxing and letting go internally are vital. Yes we still have opinions but we understand more and more that fighting for them with the other is not advantageous for inner peace, which is I/we want. Love to all. Cassie
I can so identify! The chunks of humble pie I noshed through were liberating and thoroughly life changing.

So glad you found a way though that! The covid nonsense has split up so many families.
