Interesting. Just before seeing this post i saw a facinating discussion with the brilliant Jay Feldman, Mike Fave and Theresa Piela from the Bio-Energetic (pro-metabolic) perspective discussing Chafee's claims. Sheds a new light on this..

I listened, and maybe he's right about the animals in ketosis thing, I don't know. However, to me, it seemed like he was railing against the simplicity of the carnivore diet, then hey presto, suddenly started an advertorial about his nutrition programme. There's not much money in telling people to just eat meat!

He is definitely very knowledgeable, but it's undeniable that a very high fat ketogenic version of the carnivore diet is the fastest way to heal anything serious. At that point, it would be ketogenic, but not all carnivore diets are keto… as he said quite rightly, if you eat less fat and more protein, you are not always in ketosis. Ketosis isn't necessary for everyone, and apart from when healing, isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Ketosis is a totally safe state to stay in long term though. I feel way better in it, have been in it for the most part of ten years and no ill effects. Some people like to reintroduce other foods when healed, and good for them. I don't think ketosis is the problem for those who can't – it's the fibre and plant toxins.

I would be careful with the Cain/Abel example although it was probably tongue in cheek. Cain’s offering wasn’t accepted because he didn’t offer the best of his harvest, rather fruit that had dropped from the tree etc. in contrast Abel offered his best animal.

Interesting. Thank you… Still, give me meat over the best fruit! Lol!

When I listen to interviews I adopt the heart of a skeptic as I am surrounded by them. When I forward info to my family it has to be bullet proof so they don’t come back with fingers pointing. This was an excellent exchange in so many ways ….thank you.
